Carrying on the tradition started in 1957 by Cleotis Lee, Sr. of Lee Hardware, the Lee family established Lee Hardware and Building Supply in 1988.  Richard and Denise Lee, owners of Lee Hardware and Building Supply opened the expanded division of LeeIndustrial in the 1990s and an additional physical location in Lakeland, Georgia in 2021.  Lee Hardware and Building Supply, already an award-winning home center with the Valspar Platinum dealer award, the Hardware Connection Retail Beacon award, and the Orgill Pinnacle award for outstanding independent retailer, took the concepts of great customer service and competitive pricing and expanded into the area of industrial, janitorial, and safety supplies.

The minority run business with Denise Lee and third generation co-owner, Heather Lee Bruner at the helm, serves as an example to those looking to establish long term roots in their community through services and support by partnering with like-minded programs to train and employ the next generation of up-and-coming retailers.  As a testament to their commitment to the next generation, they are a past recipient of the Helping Hands award given by the Waycross-Ware County Development Authority for “investing in our future workforce” and they generously support charities, sports programs, and school system activities throughout the surrounding communities.
